Ingredients
10 links of fresh Bratwurst
1 stick of butter
1 large onion sliced thin
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 can of dark beer
10 sausage rolls
Preparation Instructions
Prepare the grill direct and medium heat. Place the pan on one side of the grill and add the stick of butter. Put the brats on the other side of the grill directly on the grate. When the butter melts add the sliced onion, and garlic to the pan. Toss the onion occasionally. Flip the brats as needed. When the onions get soft add the can of beer. As the brats get nicely browned add them to the pan. Don’t worry about them being completely cooked because they are going to continue to cook in the pan.
When all the brats are in the pan cover it with foil and cook for 20 minutes. Remove the foil cover and let the mixture reduce until almost all of the liquid is gone. Remove from the heat.
Serve the Brats on sausage rolls with the onions and mustard if desired.

Tried this over the labor day weekend with about 20 guest. Hit of the party.....the brats take on a great flavor and the onion toppings add a great sweet balance. Best news......very easy to do. Can easily be a full meal without any other dish.
