Preparation Instructions
How to Grill Pizza
I use a package of dough from the refrigerated section of my grocery store for the crust. Prepare the grill for high heat.
Flour a baking sheet, a peel, or a plate to keep the dough from sticking.
Roll the dough into ¼” thick rounds with a rolling pin. If you have several, stack the rounds by layering a clean well-floured kitchen towel in between the individual crusts.
While grill is heating, prepare your toppings (your favorite spaghetti sauce, grated cheeses, vegetables, cooked meats) and have them near the cooking area.
Start by placing one dough round on the grill. Oiling the grate is not necessary. A little dough may ooze through the rack, but fret not! It will be fine. Wait two or three minutes, then give the dough a little tug. If it moves easily, remove it from the heat to a plate, grilled side up. If the dough sticks, let it continue to cook for another minute or so. Add toppings to the grilled dough while you are grilling the next round. When all of the rounds have finished cooking on one side, begin moving the topped dough to the grill. Grill for two to three more minutes to finish the pizza, repeating with the rest of the rounds.
